VIDEO: Ruthless Manchester United crush the MLS All Stars 5-2
MLS All Stars 2 - Manchester United 5 (Pre-season friendly, July 29, 2010) Manchester United became the first English side to beat the MLS All Stars, scoring some fantastic goals along the way, including Javier Hernandezs first for his new club.
Federico Macheda capitalised on a mistake from Allston to fire Manchester United in front on 24 seconds. Twelve minutes later Federico Macheda headed home the second from an inswinging Nani corner. Manchester United were really purring at this stage and an excellent move ended with Fletcher smacking the crossbar.
Twenty minutes into the second half Brian Ching pulled one back from a set-piece but Sir Alex Fergusons young Manchester United side hit back almost immediately. Darron Gibson curled home a picture perfect free-kick and then Tom Cleverley scored a fine individual goal for the fourth. The icing on the cake came on 84 minutes as new signing Javier Hernandez scored his first Manchester United goal. Dwayne De Rosario pulled one back for the MLS late on.
