Neymar looks silly as his Panenka penalty is saved easily by Vitoria keeper Lee
Earlier this month Santos starlet Neymar copied Sebastian El Loco Abreus now famous Panenka style penalty that saw Uruguay past Ghana in the World Cup finals.
The highly-rated youngster may now be regretting the fact that he rolled out the party piece of a chipped penalty in a meaningless friendly again Ferroviaria. (For more see this article.)
Last night Neymar was made to look a little bit silly by Vitoria goalkeeper Lee in the first leg of the Brazilian Cup final.
Neymar had opened the scoring at the back post on 14 minutes and with 17 minutes remaining of the match won a penalty with some trademark trickery in the box.
As Santos regular penalty taker, Neymar stepped up and chipped the ball down the middle. Lee simply stood still and caught the ball.
Following the match, which Santos won 2-0, coach Dorival Junior confirmed Neymar will continueas the clubs penalty taker.
And Robinho, playing his last game whilst on loan from Manchester City, backed the youngster, saying: It happens you learn from mistakes.
Goalkeeper Lee, playing just his third game for Vitoria, simply said after the game: I knew what Neymar was going to do, so I waited and I was very happy to take the penalty. Now he will think twice about taking this type of penalty.
