Inidividual Match Highlights: Luis Nani (Manchester United) vs KC Wizards
In short, no Manchester United player covered themselves in glory this week as the Red Devils slumped to a surprise 2-1 loss at the KC Wizards on Sunday night. The MLS outfit looked hungrier, fitter and far more up for the battle than the English powerhouse, with the only silver lining being that this match will likely be one of those friendlies which will fade into the background once the new Premier League season kicks off.
Luis Nani will certainly be hoping that this match was a one-off as the Portuguese trickster returned to his wasteful self for much of the contest.
Being one of the more experienced players in Sir Alexs starting eleven, Nani was suppose to assert himself in the centre of the park for Manchester United. Instead the number 17 reverted to his old trick-flick-fail routine for much of his forty-five minute shift, while his crossing and set-play delivery was way below par.
On the positive side, Nani did create Manchester Uniteds first real goalscoring opportunity of the match.
After picking up a loose ball just inside his own half, Nani raced past two defenders all the way through on goal before seeing his effort saved by KC keeper Neilsen. Minutes later Nani again had a goal-bound effort saved as he guided a header towards the far post which Neilsen again needed to save.
