West Brom stun Arsenal with incredible 3-2 away win; Manchester City end Chelseas winning streak with 1-nil victory
Arsenal 2 West Brom 3 (Premier League, September 25, 2010) (MOTD highlights)Arsenal were let off the hook midway through the first half with West Brom as Almunia gave away a penalty for taking out Odemwingie in the box but the Spanish keeper then redeemed himself saving Chris Brunts spot-kick. The Gunners fell behind four minutes after the restart, brilliant work from Jerome Thomas left Sagna for dead down the Arsenal right hand side and the Baggies winger fed Peter Odemwingie who slid home from six yards. The craziness continued at a pace at the Emirates as minutes later Arsenal were 2-down, Clichy was made to look a plonker getting too close to Brunt who backheeled the ball past the fullback and into defender Gonzalo Jara was bore down on goal, shot, and Almunia made an awful attempt at trying to save the shot. And yet the insanity continued with Arsenal continuing to get ripped apart as Chris Brunt squared to Jerome Thomas to fired in a third with the Gunners defence all at sea. 3-down, the fightback finally started as Samir Nasri (whod just hit the bar) rocketed in a goal. Arsenal forced West Brom fans to chew their nails off when Samir Nasri collected and convert and Arshavin pass at the death but the minnows from the Black Country held on for a famous victory.
