Top 10 Goals of the Week

After the most mental weekend of the season so far a weekend in which Champions Leaguers Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham, Inter Milan, Bayern Munich and Lyon all lost and the likes of Real Madrid, Ajax, Manchester United and Liverpool were all held to draws we arrive to our top goals of the week list.

With so many of the big names struggling its little surprise to see a list of lessor names occupy our top ten. That said, the list opens with one of the biggest names in Scottish football at present showing his talents with an acrobatic scissors-kick.

The volley of the week occupies position two, while in spot three even the most committed chauvinists will have to applaud a Maradona-esque goal from the womens U17 World Cup.

Spot four see the first of our long-range howitzers appear, and that is quickly followed by two more long-distance crackers from Portugal and France respectively.

A solo stunner changes things up in position seven, while the thunderbolts return at number eight.

That leaves just two: an amazing 35-yarder scored inside 40 seconds and a tremendous half-volley that no keeper in the world would save.

Please remember, all we do is pick the top ten goals and put them in chronological order. We leave it up to you to decide which goal is the best.

All thats left to say is sit back and enjoy!

1. Nikica Jelavic (second goal) (Rangers v Dunfermline, September 21, 2010)

2. Henrik Mkhitaryan (Shakhtar Donetsk v Kryvbas, September 22, 2010)
