Pitch Invasion of the Year: Acassuso coach Guillermo Crudo crazily stops a Comunicaciones goal

This is one of those amazing videos you have to see to believe.

Observers of the beautiful game are more than accustomed to seeing random nobodies running onto football pitches to steal the limelight as notorious pitch invaders. As Lionel Messi can testify, such disruptions are now commonplace in football and rarely a week goes by without some numpty somewhere pulling off the stunt.

Yet, in most cases such pitch invaders are usually fans or attention-seekers. They are not members of the backroom staff of the particular clubs involved in the actual match.That was until Acassuso goalkeeping coach Guillermo Crudo made insane 92nd minute appearance on the pitch last Wednesday as the club employee lost control when stopping a Comunicaciones attack.

Taking place in the third tier of Argentinean football, the Prim B Metro league, Comunicaciones hosted Acassuso last week in a match that eventually ended 1-all. But the hosts were robbed of all three points in unbelievable circumstances as a late three-on-two counter-attack for the hosts had to be stopped by the match official after coach Crudo notepad in hand crazily burst on the pitch to even up the defensive numbers for his side.

Crudo tackled a Comunicaciones player as he was leading a counter-attack before being immediately surrounded by players from both sides as tempers quickly boiled over. To their credit no mass brawl transpired with the referee able to restart the play with a drop-ball, but following the full time whistle Crudo was under no illusions of the gravity of the crime hed committed.

Crudo pleaded his innocence after the match arguing that he thought hed heard the whistle blow before the counter-attack started. Accordingly he instinctively ran onto the pitch, where he quickly working out the error of his ways. Crudo was then incredulous in asking for forgiveness for his bad behaviour.

Crudo: I have to accept! my puni shment and apologise to the people of Comunicaciones I feel hurt. Everybody knows me and knows the kind of person I am. They know I will never seek advantage or try to achieve a goal that way.
