Youssef Mohamad picks up the fastest red card in the Bundesliga ever

Despite being the captain of the Lebanon national team, Cologne central defender Youssef Mohamad was hardly a household name in the Bundesliga until this weekend.

Mohamad is now the proud owner of an unwanted record the fastest red card of all time in the German Bundesliga.

The 30-year-old former Freiburg centre back took just 92 seconds ofColognes match with Kaiserslautern to receive his marching orders for bringing down Erwin Hoffer who was in on goal.

Referee Doctor Felix Brych pulled out the red card and Mohamads Cologne team mateswent down to a 3-1defeat to the newly promoted side.

The previous quickest red card in the Bundesliga came last April with Andreas Ivanschitz picking up a red after 188 seconds for Mainz against Nurnberg.

Probably the quickest red card ever in the history of the Beautiful Game came in Brazil in July 2009, Ze Carlos lasting just 12 seconds.
