Four Saturday crackers: Gareth Bale, Rafa Marquez, Brian Ching & Humberto Suazo

Saturday was a good day for Golazos.

First up, Gareth Bale scored what looks to be the first real contender for goal of the season in the opening weeks of the Premier League.

The Welsh wizard scored a fortuitous opener with his face and five minutes after Ricardo Fuller had equalised for Stoke, scored a terrific left-foot volley from an Aaron Lennon cross which willlikely be on goal show reels for many years to come and sealed a 2-1 win at the Britannia for Tottenham.

Away fromEngland, the MLS also served up some delicious strikes with two of the leagues household names stepping up to the plate.

Rafa Marquez opened his account in America with a dipping, twisting 25-yard shot that ripped into the top corner to put NewYork Red Bulls ahead atToronto FC in a match they would eventually win 4-1.

The game of the day in the MLS came with Houston Dynamo edging the Chicago Fire 4-3 with Brian Ching scoring a hat-trick for the winning team.

Chings second is one that will be shown time and again, as the 32-year-old scored an overhead kick that whizzed into the net.

Finally, to complete this round-up of excellent goals,Chile striker Humberto Suazo claimed an aesthetically pleasing strike that cannoned in off the post in Monterreys 2-2 draw at Pachuca in the Mexican Premier League.
