VIDEO: Manchester United striker Mame Biram Diouf scores hat-trick for Blackburn v Norwich

Manchester United striker Mame Biram Diouf marked his first start for Blackburn on his season-long loan spell with a hat-trick to see off Norwich in the Carling Cup last night.

Diouf headed in the opener on 24 and then added two more late on with the pick of the bunch coming last with a fine header at the back post from a Morten Gamst Pedersen cross.

Following the signing of Bebe, Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has an embarrassment of riches up front at Old Trafford with eight recognised strikers in the first team.

This was also evident last night as Frederico Macheda scored a brace for the Manchester United reserve team as they saw off Manchester City.
