The YouTube clip that got Andy Gray the Sky sack

Someone at Sky has it in for Andy Gray.

When we wrote on Sunday that there was no difference between the comments made by Andy Gray and Richard Keys on lines woman Sian Massey and Ron Atkinsons infamous lazy nigger quote, the departure of the former Everton striker from Sky seemed a long way off.

Two viral clips later and Gray is out on his ear from a job reportedly worth 1.7 million pounds a year and it is quite obvious that he has been hung out to dry with Sky News producing one incriminating clip yesterday and now a YouTube video appearing as the final nail in the coffin.

It has been a three card trick that has taken down Sky Sports number one analyst. First there was his conversation with Richard Keys on Saturday lunchtime where he remarked Women dont know the offside rule.Yesterday Sky News produced his conversation with Andy Burton with further negative assumptions on lines woman Sian Massey.

The latest clip, from last December, sees Gray tell Sky Sports News host Charlotte Jackson to slip a microphone pack down his trousers: Charlotte, can you tuck this [microphone pack] down here for me love Tuck this down here.

It is of course impossible to defend Gray, his comments are out of touch with the times we live in and some wags have even argued that his recent assertion that Lionel Messi and Barcelona would struggle at Stoke should have seen him moved on for being out of touch with the modern game! .

But, there are clearly major issues at Sky. Gray recently began legal proceedings against the News of the World over phone hacking allegations. The Sunday paper and Sky are both owned by Rupert Murdoch.

There is plenty of legs still in this story. Will more video evidence emerge incriminating Keys and Burton?

And dont besurprisedif in a few months Andy Gray makes a comeback on a rival broadcaster. After all he may be sexist but Gray remains a quality analyst.
