Remember the name: Schalke wonder kid Julian Draxler scores brilliant late goal v Nurnberg

It is hard to describe how this feels, I was only just on the pitch for the last five minutes and I never dreamed this would happen.I have tomorrow off, so Ill be going to visit some of my school friends to see what they make of this.It would be unbelievable to play in the final in Berlin now. Julian Draxler.

Clive Tyldesley produced one of the most memorable pieces of commentary when Wayne Rooney scored his first goal for Everton: Rememberthe name

The DFB Pokal (German Cup) witnessed a similar moment as 17-year-old Julian Drexler announced himself with a wonder goal to secure Schalkes 3-2 win over Nurnberg in extra-time.

One of the main differences between Draxler and Rooney is that the Schalke starlet has already played twice for the first team but this will undoubtedly be the moment where Germany sat up and took notice.

Draxler caught the eye of Felix Magath during the winter break, made his debut against Hamburg 10 days ago to become the youngest Schalke player to appear in the Bundesliga, aged 17 years and 117 days, and has now won a cup quarter-final almost single-handedly. (Highlights of Draxlers debut are on this video.)

Magath is now stranger to quality young players and he added after the win over Nurnberg: As for Julian, he is pure class. A great boy who has a brilliant future.

As for the goal, it was Draxlers first goal after coming on as a sub and was a brilliant strike watch it here.
