Was Aguero offside, should the Ramos goal have been disallowed & Atleti awarded a penalty? (Real Madrid-Atletico Madrid)

As ever, after seemingly every big game in Spain, the referee is criticised no matter how well he performs.

The morning after the Madrid derby in the Copa del Rey quarter final first leg is no different and Atletico, 3-1 losers to Real, are feeling hard done by with two of three decisions in particular:

1. In the build-up to the first goal Sergio Aguero is marginally offside in the build up to the opening goal.

2. Seven minutes after Atletis opener, Real equalised through a Sergio Ramos header from a corner. The Los Blancos full back is clearly climbing on Dominguez and has his arm on his opponent. Of all the three decisions this is probably the most blatant and the Atletico Madrid players argued their case whilst the Bernabeu was celebrating.

3. On the half hour, Sergio Ramos looked to have pushed Sergio Aguero in the box and with the scores at 1-1, the decision by Lahoz to wave away the protests undoubtedly cost Atletico.

In the aftermath of the game, there has also beencriticismof Real Madrids physical play at 1-1 in the second half, withCristiano Ronaldo fouling fouling Tomas Ujfalusi and thenSergio Ramos going in very hard on Kun Aguero.Neither Real Madrid player was booked.

The three questionable decisions by referee Mateu Lahoz can be seen here.
