Individual Match Highlights: Theo Walcott (Arsenal) vs Newcastle

Theo Walcott is 21 years old thats the age where other players start to play. He is a very young boy and he is a very intelligent player and thats why I believe he will continue to develop normally. He has tremendous pace and power and he is very good in front of goal. The timing of his run is good and for a striker, thats the most important. Arsene Wenger.

It was easy for the Arsenal boss to shovel praise on Theo Walcott this week after the Gunners number 14 played a blinder at St James Park in the Carling Cup.

The England international, returning to action after a spell on the sidelines, netted two one-on-one chances against Newcastle keeper Tim Krul in an emphatic 4-0 win for Arsenal on Wednesday. Walcott simply had too much pace for the Magpies as he destroyed the home defence with direct running.

That said, Walcott was in an offside position for the first of his two goals. But that aspect of the goal aside, Theo continued to dispel the belief that he lacks a footballing brain and his made several intelligent, defence-splitting runs which saw him chalk up his fourth and fifth goals of the campaign in just five appearance.
