Top Bloopers of the Week

The week started off with a shocking goalkeeper error and there were a host of them in the last seven days.

Siena goalkeeper Ferdinando Coppola produced a ridiculously poorfumble to allow Claudio Coralli to tap in and set Empoli on their way to a 3-0 win last Monday night.

Tim Howard was another keeper to make a large error, failing to come anywhere near an Alan Hutton cross which was eventually knocked back across goal by Peter Crouch for Rafael van der Vaart.

(Sticking with the Premier League we have to flag up Richard Dunnes og at Sunderland, the big Irish defender has now scored past his own goalkeeper more times than any other EPL player.)

Probably the worst error came from Colorado Rapids keeper Matt Pickens(pictured), who at 2-0 up on Saturday night saw his kick blocked by Alberto Saborio. Not only did Pickens end up prone in the back of his net but a further goal from Saborio in the 95th minute rescued a draw from the jaws of victory.

And the poor keeping also popped up in Norway where Viking goalie Arild Ostbo must wish he never tried to be so clever against Aalesund striker Tor Aaroy, setting Viking on to a 3-1 home defeat.

Besides the keepers, one of the most amusing bloopers this week was seeing Pronte Preta midfielder Guilherme skid off the turf, onto the side of the pitch and down the stairs.

One of the most incomprehensible mistakes of the weekend came in Division 1 of Ireland. With the score at 1-1 between Mervue United and Monaghon, An inexplicable free-kick from the Monaghon left back ensured Rory Gaffney could run in on goal and score the winner. This goal ensured Mervue stay in the division next season. Crazy town.

The blooper of the week is handed to Jimmy Jump. The most famous of all pitch invaders did well to get on the Bernabeu turf during Real Madrid-AC Milan, but he took a real kick! ing for his efforts.
