Skills of the Week: Janots high kick (St Etienne) & Pitroipas Superman dive (Hamburg)

Two pieces of remarkable athleticism have been seen over the last few days.

During St Etiennes recent training session, goalie Jeremie Janot began larking about as he stood bored in his net with a camera crew filming behind him. Looking to give them some footage as the rest of the squad stood around during a drill, Janot showed his high-kicking skills managing to slam his foot against his crossbar.

While Janot showed perfect form, Hamburgs Jonathan Pitroipa was less successful attempting a courageous dive during his sides Bundesliga match with Frankfurt on Friday night.

After the hosts had broken down the right hand side early on, Pitroipa tried his best to reach a high Demel cross to the back post by launching himself into a Superman dive. Had Pitroipa been successful he would have kicked the ball back into the danger area, but instead the midfielders timing was off and he totally missed the ball.

Making the incident more embarrassing, Pitroipa not only missed the ball but he then landed awkwardly on the carpet surrounding the pitch. After getting such great airtime, Pitroipa had come back to earth with a bad bump.
