Poll Results: Zlatan Ibrahimovic wins the Goal of the Week
First off, a big thank you to all 866 people who voted in our Goal of the Week poll this week.
Feedback has been great to our new voting system attached to the weekly top 10 goals of the week post, and with data now at our fingertips we can reveal who you thought was top banana.
In third place, scooping 15% of the vote, was Villarreals Ruben Cani who scored an incredible golazo from the halfway line. Then, in the runner-up spot with 20% was Pacos Ferreiras Brazilian Samuel, who supplied a super 45-yard strike that ripped into the back of the net.
The winner, though, was fan favourite Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Collecting 22% of your votes, the Swede scooped the top prize with his ridiculously amazing long-range torpedo last weekend in Serie A.
Aside from just delivering last weeks voting results, wed also like to draw attention to a few strikes which we may be in next weeks list.
Plymouth blew the MK Dons off the park in midweek in League One, scoring two golazos in the process. Onismor Bhasera scored an outstanding solo goal to open the scoring in a 3-1 away win, while Kari Arnason double the lead with a 35-yard rip-snorter that crashed in off the underside of the bar. (Watch both goals here.)
In addition, a wonderful goal was scored by Paraguays U20 midfielder Ivan Torres on Thursday night. Playing against Bolivia at the Sul-Americano, Torres lashed a long-range stunner into the near post to claim the only goal in a narrow victory. (Watch here.)
